About Virtual-BDSM

Virtual-BDSM aims to unravel the mysteries of BDSM and D/s via the media of virtual worlds. Virtual worlds, and online Internet media give people an anonymous space to live out their fantasies in a relatively safe and secure environment, and is the perfect media to discover, learn and practice BDSM. By far the most common virtual world/metaverse at the moment is Linden Lab's Second Life®. Second Life is an extremely popular Internet virtual world and this website is based around the people and places that reside in Second Life that can offer the best insights into the world of BDSM.

And by the way .....My name is Stanton Nightfire, and I'm a resident of Second Life, and along with a few friends i'll be updating this website, and attempting to present both sides of the Dominant/submissive relationship.

Yes, there'll always be small minded people who say Second Life is detrimental to "real" BDSM, and that Second Lifers have no right to a comment. Well, maybe so. SL is full of pseudo Masters and subs who play at BDSM in pseudo castles using pseudo equipment and whipping pseudo asses. But what is Second Life? Its a pseudo world... an escape from reality. Thats the whole point of it. And there are many people out there in SL who have discovered that they would like to take BDSM into their real lives, and have done so.

So instead of looking down your noses at SL as some kind of inferior reality, get a grip and take SL for what it is... a game. A game where people can learn about themselves, and discover things they didn't know existed. And if it helps people to understand more about BDSM, then maybe BDSM will be more accepted by society, and surely thats a good thing!

We hope to provide some insights that newcomers to both SL and BDSM will find helpful. We'll be sharing our views on the different clubs and environments that reside in SL, and what type of clothing and gadgets are available. We'll also be inviting other residents of Second Life who we feel can contribute something of interest about SecondLife, BDSM, D/s, or any other topic that we see fit to include, to share their comments..
