Bringing Le Cimetiere to Life
Jinx Paz, owner of Le Cimetiere rezzed on September 21, 2005. She's usually found
living life as a switch here in SecondLife, loving being in control and sometimes losing that
same control.
Jinx values highly devotion, and to which ends people are willing to go to please one another. She is an RL BDSM Lifestyler, and thinks that there are many people who wish to carry out their D/s fantasies but cannot for one reason or another. SecondLife, according to Jinx is a place where people who would like to try BDSM can use the metaverse as a stepping stone.
You can usually find Jinx on her sim as a hands-on boss. She tends to the vendors, members, and staff, making sure that all are happy. She can be seen running events, making clothes, or even spending time with her SL husband. What does the future hold for SecondLife? We all know it's a changing place and grows every day, but Jinx hopes to keep learning, keep busy, and stay in SecondLife.
Le Cimitiere - The Cemetary
Le Cimitiere has been up and running for a little over two and a half years. It is a Vampire Sim based on the dream of New Orleans made popular by Anne Rice and her characters. There is a French Quarter where you can find shops; SecondLife's largest grave yard, where you can find the names of members of Le Cimitiere family on the tombstones. The grave yard can be booked for weddings and there is even a small Chapel for the ceremony.

Jinx Paz and Le Cimitiere have excelled in making this club a place that is open to all, whether you are a vampire, human, furry, neko, Dom(me), sub, or not into BDSM at all. It has a different atmosphere, as the motto at Le Cim (how members refer to it for short) goes: A home for the outcasts among outcasts.
I spoke to Jinx and asked for her thoughts on SecondLife BDSM.
Nicolette Poutine: Tell me Jinx, what would you say is your role in the SecondLife BDSM community?
Jinx Paz: I'm mainly a switch, I play Mistress or sub, it depends on my mood.
Nicolette Poutine: Me too! So, do you practice BDSM in RL?
Jinx Paz: Yes I do.
Nicolette Poutine: And what does BDSM mean to you?
Jinx Paz: BDSM gives a sense of control or loss of control. I need a strong sense of devotion from the one I'm with, that they let go. I'm willing to let go too, so we can please one another.
Nicolette Poutine: There's a BIG difference between RL BDSM and BDSM in SL... what are your thoughts on the latter?
Jinx Paz: I think SL BDSM is a great thing, I know many people who have real life fantaies but are scared to act them out, so they act out being a Dom or a sub on here. It makes them realize if they would like to try it in RL, more of a stepping stone if you will.
Nicolette Poutine: It is a great thing, so do you have any advice for someone who wants to learn about BDSM in SL?
Jinx Paz: Never do anything that you dont want to do. Never be afraid to say no, just because someone is a sub does not mean that they need to be treated like dirt (hehehe unless you like that kind of thing). Also try new things, you never know what you'll be into until you try it!
Nicolette Poutine: Do you suggest any places in particular in SL for people to see what BDSM is all about?
Jinx Paz: I like hanging around in a lot of BDSM places, but I would say House of V is a great place to learn AND have fun at.
Nicolette Poutine: Well Jinx, that about finishes up our interview. Thank you for your time, anything you would like to say or comment?
Jinx Paz: Thank you for considering me for this! I'm quite honored and happy. I work hard on Le Cim, it's been two-and-a-half years, and I am so happy when other people enjoy it as much as I do.

The club itself is actually outdoors, and they have a schedule of nightly events from 7pm to 11pm PDT (or SL time). They have themed events that include contests and live DJs, like Fetish Night on Tuesdays. You can also usually find after hour events from 10pm to 5am PDT.
Hells Dungeon is an underground dungeon found in most BDSM clubs, except this place actually looks like Hell. Here you can find some of the newest and best BDSM toys on the market, and they are free to be played with. The dungeon can be accessed by one of the many teleporters found throughout the sim (keep an eye out for a green coffin with the figure of a girl on it, as that's the TP). It's in a private place, away from the crowd of the club.
